A master plan for developing a mega city (including parts of Johannesburg, Mogale City and Pretoria/Tshwane), was approved by the Johannesburg Metro Council recently.

The area covers approximately 900 ha, stretching across the borders of these three metro councils, with Lanseria international airport at the centre. One of the sections in the envisaged development stretches up to the Rhenosterkop.

I trust that the developers take into account the many visitors to the Dam that make use of the R512, which runs past Lanseria. The entire road from the Krugersdorp Highway to Broederstroom should be upgraded and widened before Cradle City is developed.
