Help the Committee to build your fauna and flora data base.

There is much diversity of species within the Hartebeestfontein Conservancy, and the Committee would like to build a record of the various species that live in our area. We need your help with this!

Every three months, the Committee will send out charts for you to complete and return to us. We will keep our members updated on any unusual species that are listed, as well as on the numbers of the various species that you have listed for our Conservancy data base.

A Species Observation Chart is available, which we ask you to complete by listing the many mammals (e.g. field mice, mongoose and even jackal), as well as the many arthropods (spiders and scorpions), the birds (both resident and migrant), the diverse populations of insects (crickets, butterflies, beetles, centipedes, Shongalolos, etc), the frogs and reptiles (lizards, snakes and chameleons, etc) that you may see or hear on your property.

Please contribute by completing your list and sending it back to the contact details at the bottom of the chart. Thank you!

I like your “Observation Calendar” – it makes it easy and practical to note things. I think this is a feather in your cap – maybe we should ‘steal’ the idea.
